Shine On

You should shine y’ur brightest

On the stormy days,

To bright’n someone’s path

Along the way,

The trail that the’r on

Maybe gloomy an’ dim,

But a smile from you

Could touch them with’n,

Maybe the gentle touch of y’ur hand,

Will reach the heart

Of a rugged old man,

A phone call to a friend

That’s a long ways away,

A kind word you’v spoken

Might just make the’r day,

So choose y’ur words wisely

That you have to say,

Hold them ther’ on y’ur lips

For a moment or two,

An’ don’t spit them out

If the’r bitter to you,

Don’t say noth’n out loud

You wouldn’t want said to you,

The pleasantries come

Are easy to say,

So… “Shine On”, an’ have a great day…
